The Union Unfiltered was created last year with one simple mission: to make sure your voice is heard.

As an independent charity, The Union is here to represent you and make sure your views help shape the decisions and changes that affect your time at Manchester Met. To do that, we need to understand what student life is really like, what matters most to you, and where you think things could be better.

That’s how Unfiltered, our online community, was created! 

Whether you’re joining Manchester Met for the first time or coming back for another year, Unfiltered gives you a safe space to share your experiences (good and bad), have your say and help shape the future of student life.

How it works:

Everyone’s student experience is different, and that’s exactly what we want to hear about. Whether you’re in your first year, living in halls, commuting to campus, in your final year, or balancing university with work and family, your perspective matters.

Research activities

Every two weeks you can take part in interactive research activities, from quick polls and heatmap exercises to plenty more. They’re designed to give you a say on the decisions and priorities that affect student life, both at The Union and across the University. One day, you could be sharing your thoughts on transport, and the next, giving your views on how AI is being used in your studies.

Community activities

Aside from our research, we also have a number of community activities for you to take part in. Upload photos to one of our scrapbooks to show off your favourite pic of your pet or Manchester's best view or get involved in one of our forums - you can also start your own!

Rewards

Getting involved comes with real rewards, too. Whether it's research or community activites every interactions earns you points. The more you take part, the more points you earn, and the more chance you have of winning a share of £2700 in vouchers!

This isn’t just about collecting feedback and filing it away. We’ll update you on the meetings we attend, the issues we raise, and the actions taken as a result. You’ll be able to see the difference your voice is making, because The Union Unfiltered isn’t about us. It’s about you.
