Welcome Week is a week packed with fun events, activities and opportunities to meet new friends. All designed to help you settle into University.
Head over to The Union's events page for more info.
The Union has collaborated with Cool It for Freshers / Welcome Week 2025 to offer an even broader programme of events.
We wanted to make sure there was something for everyone. So, The Union are offering our own programme of events on campus (that you don't need an official wristband for. Some of these events are free and some need a ticket still.
Cool It and The Union are offering a separate programme of events which you can access by purchasing the Official Freshers Week 2026 wristband through Cool It. This gives you access to your traditional Freshers Week events; think club nights, nights out and more.
The only place you'll be able to buy your Official Manchester Met Freshers 2026 wristband is via Cool It.
The voucher books designed to give you all your best first experiences with us (from your first pint, to your first pizza and society membership, can be found on both days of our Fresher's Fair stall.
The voucher books are completely free so get yourself over to Freshers Fair on 29 and 30 September to pick one up!
Upon every purchase you make at any of our commercial outlets (the Coffee Shop, Boundary) and just by attending certain events with your voucher book (Karaoke / Pint And...) you can collect a Union stamp.
Once you've filled your yellow brick wall with Union stamps, fill in the other side with your details and hand it in to our reception team.
At the end of each month until December, we'll then pick out a winner at random and that winner will be contacted with their prize (with a value of up to £150).
Don't forget to follow along on socials for prize announcements, official prize draws and more opportunities to win some goodies.
From Freshers Fair to club nights, and pub quizzes to craft events - Freshers is for everyone.
Keep an eye on The Union's socials for ways to get involved.
Manchester Met student or not, everyone is welcome to join us. Some events require a ticket, and some an official wristband. Some have limited space so they'll detail if the activity is only open to Manchester Met students.
We've got loads of different events during Welcome Week that are suitable for everyone, including trips and sessions that don't include alcohol and that you don't need a wristband for.
We offer events like craft making, museum trips, walking tours of the city and day trips as well as non-alcoholic drink options at all of our main events.
